Question #1 -- Can I use this?
Often, entire books and other complete works can be used for educational purposes without special permission. Journal articles and parts of works do require permission.
Because some authors and titles fall outside this rule of thumb, you should always check to make sure that your use of an item is copyright compliant.
You can check your materials for copyright compliance and clearance at http://www.copyright.com/get-permissions/
The other tabs of this LibGuide contain a great deal of information about the ins and outs copyright. We have published this LibGuide in hopes that it will be helpful to you.
